Avoid These 9 Common Andaman Trip Mistakes

As people who have been working in the Andaman tourism industry for over five years, we have seen many tourists plan their trip to the latter but still get some things horribly wrong!

We obviously don’t want you to make the same mistakes, so here’s a list of ten common Andaman travel mistakes.

Examine it and thank us later!

  1. 1.Making Plans for a Limited Time

There is so much to see in Andaman that you will miss out on if you do not plan your stay carefully. You’ll need at least 5 days to fully appreciate Andaman.

Port Blair, Havelock, and Neil are three places you could visit during this time, or if you want to relax, you should stay at just one good resort.

You can spend all your time here and enjoy the rest of the property without having to worry about moving everything.

If you stay for an extended period, you can visit some of the more unusual places, such as the North Andaman. However, a stay of less than 5 days is not permitted.

2. Failure to Pack Appropriate Clothes

Many of you may be wondering what to wear in Andaman. Remember that this is a tropical destination.

You’ll spend much of your time on the beaches that define these islands.

If you enjoy sandy beaches, swimming, and watching sunsets, pack accordingly.

Pack lightweight cotton clothing, rubber flip-flops, quick-drying towels, and, most importantly, sunscreen.

High heels are not advised because you will be doing a lot of walking.

Pack rain gear such as an umbrella, a raincoat, rain shoes/sandals, and/or a wind-sheeter if you’re travelling during the monsoon season.

If you’re looking for an adventure, there are numerous hiking opportunities in the Andaman. Carry comfortable walking or hiking shoes and clothing for long walks.

3. Failure to Book in Advance

Booking is always an important decision. Many people may have difficulty planning their trip in this manner, so here are a few pointers.

We recommend that you book your hotels, ferries, and return flights before you arrive to save time while you’re here. The stress of planning your next stay will be relieved.

If you’re travelling in a large group, you should also book activities ahead of time to make your trip more organized.

If you’re visiting during peak season, make it a point to book everything ahead of time because availability may become an issue.

4. Looking for Fast Internet

It’s time to debunk some myths. People generally believe that data and the internet will function in Andaman in the same way that they do on the Indian mainland.

That is not the case as of now (June 2020).

There will be no data network or Wi-Fi. When it comes to connectivity, expect the bare minimum. This means no video calls, almost no What sapping, Instagramming, or other similar activities.

Sending office files will take hours, so it’s probably best to postpone important business matters while in Andaman.

As a result, Andaman is a true natural haven.

5. Assuming Your SIM Will Be Connected Here

Even though the network is frequently a problem, the internet has its moments in the spotlight.

BSNL sims work best, so bring one with you if possible.

As previously stated, there is no guarantee of a good internet connection, so don’t count on it.

6. Lack of Essential Medicines

Many visitors do not bring medical supplies because they believe they will be available here.

It should be noted that most goods in Andaman are imported from the mainland.

Even if they are well-stocked, supplies can run out during a crisis. Of course, this is the worst-case scenario.

To be safe, bring only the necessities and, if possible, a first-aid kit. It is always better to be safe than sorry.

7. Expecting Expensive Cruises

There are no luxury ships available for cruises, as there are many popular beach destinations.

Ferries, also known as catamarans, are used to transport people from one island to another and do not allow overnight stays. They last only a few hours.

Some liveaboards are available but must be reserved.

These are mostly used for diving excursions.

8. Assuming that Andaman is only for honeymooners

Andaman is one of the most romantic places to visit with your significant other. There are numerous restaurants that epitomize romantic dinners.

There are also lovely beaches with stunning sunsets that can provide a romantic setting.

Andaman is ideal for couples, but it is not limited to them!

The romantic trend began in 2016, with new restaurants opening and romantic places in Andaman being blogged about.

Andaman used to be, and still is, all about families, backpackers, and adventure seekers.

So, whether you’re a backpacker, a solo Traveller, a family with children, or a senior citizen, Andaman is a great place to visit!

9. Believing that Andaman is Expensive

This is without a doubt the most common error made by visitors to the Andaman. Andaman is for everyone, as we have repeatedly stated on our blogs.

In general, the activities, living arrangements, and prices cater to all budgets. Your expenses are primarily determined by your flight and lodging options.
